Global Agency's daily cooking format "Rivals- In -Law" has been licensed by Imagine Media Group, Israel to air on Channel 20 and Alfa TV, Greece has also signed up for license deal. Since the format’s launch, the show has also been licenced in Kazakhstan (Channel 7), Macedonia (Alfa TV Dooel), Ukraine (1+1), the Middle East (Abu Dhabi TV) and Russia (CTC Media / Domashny Channel).
‘Rivals –In- Law’s appeal lies in combining the relationship that drama viewers want from a reality entertainment show, with the practical take-home skills they’d expect from a cooking format. Every episode, a young wife, her mother-in-law and husband/son are introduced. The son must choose a favorite dish for them to prepare. Both women get to work in the studio kitchen under the watchful eye of a chef host, and age-old tensions are brought to boiling point in the process. The son must ultimately decide who cooked it best, and his dilemma is relatable for many audiences.
Izzet Pinto, CEO of Global Agency, said of the deal: “The biggest rivalry in life are always between the bride and the mother-in-law. Bringing them together and having the son as judge creates an incredible madness and fun on TV. It is more than a cooking show and a perfect match for every territory.”
