“Lonely Hearts” tells the riveting story of two couples passionately in love but torn in different directions by fate and conflicts running through their families. Though Ayda and Teoman are smitten when they first meet, destiny conspires against them and they must wait three years for a second chance at romance.

When chance brings them back together, their path to romance is blocked by Ayda’s university friend Mehmet, whose love for her is unrequited. They must also overcome hostility from their families, knowing that her mother and his father were once lovers who split in acrimony.

Their rocky path to love is echoed by the romance between Teoman’s brother Ozan and their grandmother’s young carer Kumru. Mehmet again plays a disruptive role as he emerges as the mystery investor offering to help Ozan in business, with the secret aim of muscling in on the family’s fortunes.

When Ozan learns that a foolish deal has led to Mehmet seizing control of the business, only his blossoming love for Kumru can give him strength. The two of them, like Teoman and Ayda, must now cling to each other and their love if they are to prevail against the hostile forces ranged against them.
